Melissa Lobes received her BFA in choreography from Columbia College Chicago. Her dance training began at Perseverance Dance Company under Avnun Yakubov, Missy Ridgway and Nickie Del Re Masino. Melissa is Co-Director of Dance Xplosion's award-winning competitive dance team, and also teaches and choreographs pieces across the Midwest at several studios including Deforest Dance Academy, Pro Dance Elite, Turning Pointe Dance Company, Life Dance Academy and Xtreme Dance Center. Her work has won countless choreography awards including being nominated for an industry dance award for "choreography of the year'. As a performer she's been in pieces by Margi Cole, Pam McNeil, Peter Carpenter, Lisa Gonzales, and in Onye Ozuzu's "Black Saint and the Sinner Lady" project at the Pritzker Pavilion. Melissa has also presented her own work at Links Hall Chicago.
